But connecting with a current student can offer a fresh perspective.  Prospective students can now chat with current JCU students to get questions answered, and find the necessary support to make an informed decision. They've been there, and they're happy to help!Visa processing delays - Act swiftlyDue to the recent student visa processing delays, we strongly encourage all students to accept their offers early.  We kindly ask that you advise any students with full GTE offer conditions to coordinate the GTE assessment processes immediately upon receiving an offer letter. Please note that offer lapse dates cannot be extended. Taking early action will ensure that students have enough time to secure a visa and arrive on schedule to start their studies.JCU's future Engineers and IT students have a new home!James Cook University's newest building, the Engineering and Innovation Place (EIP) is ready to open its doors in the next few weeks, boasting 23 new labs, industry collaboration spaces, workshops, and cutting-edge equipment. Dear Valued Partners, We trust this message finds you well. We would like to provide you with some updates in light of the recent impact of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper in Far North Queensland. Jasper made landfall as a Category 2 tropical cyclone on December 13, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall that caused unprecedented flash flooding in and around the Cairns region. The Townsville region was not impacted. Located on higher ground, our Cairns campuses and on-campus accommodation were fortunately unaffected by the flooding. All on-campus activities are expected to resume as normal once the highways have reopened. The Cairns community and surrounding areas are now in the final stages of cleanup, and we anticipate a return to normalcy in preparation for the festive season. The Cairns Airport is fully operational and welcomed passengers back in Cairns on Tuesday as airlines resumed services to the region.  Should you have further concerns about the adverse weather event, please reply to this email, and our team will be in touch. Please note that as we approach the Christmas period, our University will be on an official break from December 23 until January 2. However, our student support services will remain available to current students.
