Thank you for your continued support of your students who are joining us soon for semester 1 (February) – we are really looking forward to their upcoming arrival!
A reminder that students need to complete several pre-enrolment steps in advance, to ensure their arrival at Otago and final course ‘declaration’ can be as efficient and smooth as possible. Aside from securing the student visa and accommodation, we also want to alert you to course (paper) selection and course approval. In addition, students need to register for an orientation and enrolment seminar and email a copy of the visa decision and passport photo page.
More information on these topics and other practical pre-departure information (e.g. medicine, packing, collecting UniFlats keys) is found in the newsletter we send directly to offer holders. The last two January editions are here:
January 16 2024 NewsletterIn case you have a student that encounters delays with their visa or another barrier which will affect them arriving in time for the start of studies, please keep your Regional Market Manager informed so we can help confirm options for late arrival and if the programme can accommodate that, or facilitate a deferral with admissions for the next available intake for studies.
The deadline to apply for studies commencing in semester 2 (July) is 30 April.
A friendly reminder that your Regional Market Manager is your best contact point for questions regarding course advice, application follow up or help to get information from a department.
We periodically notice counsellors mass-emailing multiple academic staff or a variety of departments, which in turn means they are often not responded to as so many people are on the email. Please just go to your Regional Market Manager for help! Most of the market managers are out travelling during February – we look forward to seeing many of you and supporting your events.
Happy Lunar New Year to our partners who are celebrating it around the world!
We wish you a prosperous year of good luck and good fortune!
Ngā mihi nui - Kind regards,
International Team
