CAS TIMELINE - SEPTEMBER 2025 ENTRY

Please be reminded of our standard CAS timeline below:

We recommend that students complete their CAS Shield requirements as early as possible. Early preparation is key to avoid delays in visa processing.

• CAS Shield completion also includes the payment of the required deposit.

• Students will be required to show financial evidence that meets the UKVI regulations for applying for a Student Visa. You can find out more about financial evidence for applications on our website.

• We advise that students must receive their CAS by 29 August 2025 at the very latest.

• We will issue late CAS on a case-by-case basis, where visa processing times are running to standard and students can access a priority visa application.

DUOLINGO ACCEPTED TOWARDS OUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

We’re excited to announce that we now accept the Duolingo English test towards our English Language requirements. We can accept tests completed after 1 July 2024, and the tests need to have all 4 modules (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking). Students can register to take the test on the Duolingo website. Please see our English Language requirements webpage for IELTS equivalent scores.

Once completed, students are asked to provide their Duolingo test certificate to our Admissions team by uploading it to the application portal (for direct applications), or sending it to apply@brookes.ac.uk (for UCAS applications).

TOEFL ENGLISH TEST - 15% DISCOUNT AVAILABLE

An English test we also accept is the TOEFL iBT test. Oxford Brookes applicants can get a 15% discount when using the code TOEFLIACAC15. Students can enter the code during checkout when registering for the test through the TOEFL website. The code must be redeemed before 31 December 2025. ONLINE WORKSHOPS FOR SEPTEMBER STARTERS

The International Student Advice Team (ISAT) is hosting online workshops for students starting in September.

Student Visa application workshop: Wednesday 6 August, 9.00am (UK time).

This workshop offers valuable information and guidance on the process of receiving a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), the required documents for the Student Visa application, and steps for obtaining the eVisa and travelling to the UK.

Preparing for your arrival workshop:

Wednesday 30 July 11.00am (UK time)

Friday 15 August at 10.30am (UK time)

Thursday 28 August 2.00pm (UK time)

Students need to register beforehand to join by completing the registration form.

This workshop will cover everything students need to know about:

• Getting to their accommodation

• What to pack and bring

• Understanding UK culture

• Making new friends

• What to expect next in their student journey.

Students will also have the chance to connect with other new international students.

MEET AND GREET SERVICE - 13 AND 14 SEPTEMBER 2025

The International Student Advice Team has organised a Meet and Greet Service to help new international students get to their accommodation.

The Meet and Greet Service will be available from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday (13 September 2025) and Sunday (14 September 2025).

There will be a meeting point just outside the Headington campus, next to the Lloyd Building/bus stop (see photo of the location) that students can come to once they arrive at the Airline bus stop, to take transport (via a minibus) to their Brookes accommodation. The halls served by our minibus are:

• Warneford Hall

• Paul Kent Hall/Parade Green

• Crescent Hall

• Clive Booth

Students wishing to go to Cheney Village will be accompanied (on foot) by one of our International Student Helpers, as this hall is a 10-minute walk from the Meet and Greet location.
