| | Dear Valued Partner,
As you will be aware from 1 April, the new regulations prohibiting the payment of commission to education agents (both onshore and offshore) for assisting students to transfer between institutions while holding an active Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) took effect. This applies to any form of benefit - monetary or non-monetary - and institutions are now required to report such payments. We appreciate your continued professionalism and partnership in navigating these changes. While autumn has arrived in Melbourne and the weather is beginning to cool, the city remains vibrant with activity. Students can enjoy iconic events such as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Geelong Japanese Festival, and the popular Hawker 88 Night Market at Queen Victoria Market, offering authentic street food from across Asia and beyond.
On campus, Deakin continues to support student wellbeing and connection. The Deakin University Student Association (DUSA) is offering a free Food Pantry across campuses on selected days in April, helping students access fresh and nutritious essentials during a time of rising living costs. In addition, “Active April” provides a range of activities - from nature walking meditation and online pilates to social sports such as basketball, badminton and volleyball - encouraging students to stay active and build connections.
We hope students are balancing their academic commitments with these enriching experiences and making the most of their time at Deakin.
Thank you again for your continued partnership in supporting their journey.

To make things even better, the Victorian government is currently offering free public transport across the state for this April and May, making it easier to travel across Melbourne and beyond - whether commuting to campus or exploring regional destinations in Victoria! |
