Exciting Update: Refreshed Scholarship Opportunities for International Students.

We’re pleased to share an important update to Deakin’s International scholarship program from Trimester 3 onwards.

Deakin University, Deakin College and Deakin University English Language Institute have introduced a refreshed scholarship offering for international students studying at Deakin’s Australian campuses, designed to better recognise and reward strong academic performance.

As part of this update, we’re excited to announce the introduction of two new scholarships, which will replace most existing Deakin international scholarships from Trimester 3 2026:

20% Deakin International Merit Scholarship

25% Deakin Excellence Scholarship (International)

These new scholarships simplify our offering while providing even more opportunities for high-achieving students to access a world-class Deakin education.

Simple and streamlined process

All scholarships will be automatically assessed at the time of application, making it easier than ever for eligible students to be considered.

The only exception is the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship (DVCIS), which requires a separate application.

Please note:

For students already holding offers for Trimester 3 2026 and beyond, the Deakin International Admissions team will issue revised offer letters where applicable, for the new scholarships.

We encourage you to promote these refreshed scholarship opportunities to prospective students, particularly those with strong academic results.

NEW SCHOLARSHIPS

Available from Trimester 3 2026

20% Deakin International Merit Scholarship*

Available from Trimester 3/2026

Value and duration

20% of total tuition fees (as stated on offer letter).

This scholarship is available for the normal duration of the course.

Eligible nationalities

All new commencing international students.

Students who are citizens of India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Myanmar, and Bhutan continue to be considered for the India and South Asia Meritorious scholarship.

Academic eligibility

Have achieved at least a 65% average (or equivalent) in previous studies.

*Exclude Health quota courses

25% Deakin Excellence Scholarship (International)*

Available from Trimester 3/2026

Value and duration

25% of total tuition fees (as stated on offer letter).

This scholarship is available for the normal duration of the course.

Eligible nationalities

China, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Timor Leste, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia.

Academic eligibility

Undergraduate: Have achieved at least a 75% average (or equivalent) in previous studies.

Postgraduate: Have achieved at least a 80% average (or equivalent) in previous studies.

*Exclude Health quota courses
