Herts students receive insight into how Watford Football Club is run
![]()
Students from the University of Hertfordshire have been welcomed to Watford Football Club for valuable insight into how a professional football club is run.
Over 50 students explored a wide range of Watford’s professional activities, many relating directly to their own studies. They received an overview of the club’s commercial strategy and partnerships, including how Watford FC works with brands and businesses to drive revenue, fan engagement and long-term growth.
They were also told about the role of the women’s programme at Watford FC and received a stadium tour.
The students were drawn from three University Schools: Hertfordshire Business School, the Health, Medicine and Life Sciences School, and its School of Science, Physics Engineering and Computer Science.
Paralympic stars help University of Hertfordshire researcher chart 50 years of the Winter Paralympics

A host of celebrated Paralympians have taken part in a documentary detailing the 50-year history of the Winter Paralympic Games.
Titled The Winter Paralympics: 50 Years in the Making, the film, which was presented by Dr Christopher Brown, researcher and Senior Lecturer in Sport Development at the University of Hertfordshire and jointly produced with the National Paralympic Heritage Trust, was launched with a screening at the University last week.
Drawing on in‑depth interviews with Paralympians, the documentary charts the evolution of the Winter Games and the experiences of the athletes who helped shape them.
Among those featured is one of Britain’s first Winter Paralympians, Mike Brace CBE, who, blind from the age of 10, competed as a cross-country skier in the inaugural Winter Paralympics in 1976.
