英-曼彻斯特大学-update for UoM verification process

Dear colleague,

We would like to make you aware of some changes to our qualification verification processes at Manchester.  Following a number of cases of fraud during the last admissions cycle, we will be supplementing our existing verification resources for degree qualifications through an external partner, Qualification Check.  Some applicants will be required to give consent to verify their documents as part of this process.

Information for applicants is available here: https://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/student-terms-and-conditions/verification-admissions/

Key points:

  • We will start the verification only when an applicant has accepted an unconditional offer or met their degree offer conditions, and we will not issue a CAS until we have a positive outcome from Qualifications Check.
  • Please note that once an applicant has accepted an unconditional offer or met their offer conditions, they will have 5 days in which to grant consent if they’ve not already done so, or their offer may be withdrawn.
  • To minimise any delays to CAS issuance, please could you encourage your offer holders to submit any documents stipulated in their offer conditions promptly and grant permission to verify their documents as soon as possible if asked to do so.

Our admissions team will be implementing a systems update so that you should start to receive a copy of the communication to your tagged offer holders.  These changes are intended to strengthen the University’s control measures against potential fraud prior to the issuance of CAS on the University’s Sponsor licence. Your continued efforts conducting checks on applicants’ documents also remain an important part of this and are greatly appreciated.

We are grateful for your support in ensuring that offer holders follow the qualifications verification process in a timely manner so that we can ensure that genuine applicants receive their CAS in good time.

If you have any questions, or feedback for admissions colleagues please feel free to contact us.
