Government announcement on MIT & Unitec

Warm Greetings, 

I hope you’re having a great week.  

Unitec really values the relationship we hold with you and your organisation, as well as the work we do together.  

That’s why we are getting in touch to let you know the Minister for Vocational Education Penny Simmonds has announced that Auckland’s two polytechnics MIT and Unitec will be transitioning to a single legal independent entity delivering to our region from next year on.  

What does this mean for you? Well, in the short-to-medium term we don’t anticipate you’ll notice a lot of change. Your contact person with Unitec will remain the same. The names, brands, agent contracts and values we work under will continue to be used for the foreseeable future.

We are looking forward to working more closely with our partners to create a platform for delivering vocational education and training for the region that is more responsive to your needs, as well as providing greater accessibility for those across Tāmaki Makaurau – Auckland wishing to partner and use our services. 

We will be arranging opportunities for you to hear more about what we have planned soon.
