Dear Valued Partner,

I am writing to share an important update about the University of Adelaide Melbourne Campus and what this means for Campus students who started an award program in Semester 2 or are continuing in a pathway or award program.

The University of Adelaide and Kaplan Higher Education have been reviewing the long-term future of the Melbourne Campus, looking at how and where programs are best delivered to continue to give students a high-quality
experience into the future.

This review is part of broader planning as the University of Adelaide prepares to transition to Adelaide University in 2026– a new and exciting chapter in higher education.

Following careful consideration, the University and Kaplan Higher Education have jointly agreed to close the Melbourne Campus at the end of 2025. From 2026, award programs will be offered at the new Adelaide University’s
South Australian campuses. Pathway programs will continue at University of Adelaide College to help students prepare for university study.

Please be assured that the University and Kaplan Higher Education remain committed to the longstanding partnerships in Adelaide, offering high-quality academic programs and an exceptional student experience.

Today we held a face-to-face briefing with Campus students and staff to let them know about this decision and ensure students have the clearest possible information to support their future study plans.

Key information for students

• The Campus will continue to operate as usual until the end of 2025, with no changes to teaching, support or services during this time.

• A Transition Week is being held on-campus this week (4 to 7 August) where our teams are engaging students in discussions about what this decision means for their studies.

• Options students can consider if they are continuing studies into 2026 include:
• A supported transition to our South Australian campuses.

• Transfer to another higher education provider that the student independently selects and arranges.
• Transfer to Monash University, a Group of Eight university in Melbourne, if the student meets eligibility requirements and either transfers in 2025 or from Semester
  1, 2026 with more than two years left in their degree. We are also actively exploring the potential for transfer to other higher education providers in Melbourne.

• The University will support students to continue their program– and they will not be disadvantaged. Offers to study with us remain valid.

Our priority is to provide direct support and guidance to students, especially those who will be continuing their studies in Australia next year, as they consider their next steps so we can assist with a smooth transition.

We will continue to provide updates as planning progresses, work closely with you on individual student cases and ensure every student receives personalised support.
