Welcome to the April edition of our newsletter - please read on for the latest news and updates from Northumbria University.
CAS Shield - Go Live
From 21 April 2026, we will be using CAS Shield to manage all CAS processing. For applicants who are already part way through a CAS request, they will be invited to create a CAS Shield account to complete the process shortly after this date. Depending on where you are in their application journey, they may be asked to confirm or re-provide some information already submitted, we appreciate your support in guiding them through this step. Other applicants will be invited to register for CAS Shield as soon as they are Unconditional (Direct applicants) or Unconditional Firm (UCAS).
Please note that all documents requested via CAS Shield must be uploaded there, we will not be accepting email or applicant portal uploads. Applicants will be prompted by email when a document or information has been requested. For agents who already have a CAS Shield account, your Northumbria applicants will be visible within your account, and you will be able to track their progress and view any outstanding actions. If you do not yet have an account, further information on how to get set up will follow shortly.
Agent Quality Framework new website
We would like to draw your attention to an important update regarding the Agent Quality Framework. The guidance and quality assurance tools are now hosted at a new website address www.aqf.info, which supersedes the website address previously referenced in your Representative Terms and Conditions.
Reminder to Students: Accept your offer
Please remind students to accept their offer to study with us if they haven't already done so...their place is waiting. They can accept their offer by clicking the red 'Respond to Offer' button in their Applicant Portal.
