Explore and apply for new 2026 scholarships

SOAS is offering over 320 awards totalling £4 million to support talented prospective students for 2026 entry. Applications for a number of our key new scholarships offering significant funding open in February. Please encourage your students to explore and apply early where eligible.

SOAS International Academic Excellence Scholarships

• 25 full tuition fee waivers and up to 8 partial tuition fee waivers valued at £20,000 recognising scholarly achievement

• Open to all overseas fee-paying postgraduate taught applicants holding a 2:1 UG degree or equivalent

• Deadline: 29th May 2026

SOAS New Programme Scholarships

• 15 partial tuition fee waivers valued at £10,000 each recognising outstanding academic performance

• Open to all overseas fee-paying applicants for relevant new MSc programmes

• Deadline: 29th May 2026

New PGT Programmes for 2026 Entry

SOAS is excited to announce the launch of several new postgraduate taught programmes for September 2026. These programmes draw on the university’s interdisciplinary expertise, merging data science techniques and real-world applications to equip students from a wide range of academic backgrounds to engage with contemporary issues and debates from a global perspective.

MSc Data Science

• Designed for students seeking to develop and apply data science approaches to analyse economic, political, social and developmental processes. Students will develop a social science expertise on critically analysing the role of data in contemporary societies and economies.

MSc Data Science and Economic Policy

• Designed for students seeking to develop and apply data science techniques to the design and evaluation of economic policies, including in emerging sub-disciplines such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in policymaking.

  
  

MSc AI and Sustainability

• Designed for students who wish to obtain coding skills, apply data science techniques and gain social science expertise on the analysis of environmental and social sustainability challenges in the era of AI.

MSc Global Sustainability

• Designed for students seeking to critically analyse how environmental crises and sustainability are fundamentally connected with global economic and policy processes within local contexts.

  
  

MA Race and Empire

• Designed for students seeking to interrogate race and empire as central to a range of social, political and planetary crises today, investigating the ideologies of difference that emerged from colonial encounters in Asia, Africa and Middle East and on Indigenous lands transformed by racial capitalism.

All SOAS PGT degrees (online or on campus) provide an opportunity for students to take part in exclusive study tours across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Removal of SOAS IFP for 2026

Following careful review, SOAS has taken the decision to remove the International Foundation Programme for 2026 entry. Please be reassured that all current offer-holders and applicants will receive an update and dedicated guidance from SOAS Admissions about alternative foundation pathways at SOAS to ensure they can access study opportunities with us wherever possible.

SOAS Integrated Foundation Programmes remain open for application through UCAS ahead of the new academic year.
