| | Boosting employability with Career Advantage | | Last month we announced Career Advantage, our innovative careers development programme that puts students' careers at the centre of every part of their experience at Southampton. Another key part of Career Advantage is our award-winning employability framework Successful Futures. What is Successful Futures? Successful Futures is a structured pathway embedded into each programme that guides students to understand, develop, and showcase their skills that employers value most. It provides students with a clear, practical way to plan their future as soon as they start their studies. Students are supported to: Explore and assess their skills using the Southampton Skills Model, built around 14 key skills identified by global employers. Identify skills gaps and access targeted opportunities such as internships, volunteering, community projects, and skills-based work experience. Build a clear, personalised action plan that connects skills, experience, and career goals. Evidence their achievements for CVs, applications, and interviews, supported by digital badges.
