spotlight on BSc Nursing Studies, details of upcoming webinars, and a reminder of Surrey's PG recruitment deadlines. UK Immigration White Paper, May 2025 In May, the Home Office published the Immigration White Paper;
we welcome the Government’s decision to retain the Graduate Route. Here
at Surrey, we are proud of our international students. International
students enrich the diverse cosmopolitan culture of the UK and the
University of Surrey. Rebecca
Hill, Director of International Recruitment at Surrey, was in the House
of Lords last week discussing the White Paper, and we wanted to share
some of the key messages to help you, and your students, stay informed
of the changes being proposed. Please be assured we are keeping the
dialogue open, and there is currently no timeline for implementation or
revision of the White Paper. Changes to Graduate VisaGraduate Immigration Route - 18 months for all graduates, with a focus on graduates transitioning to graduate-level jobs. Did you know?
94% of Surrey international graduates are in employment or further
study, with an average salary of £35,795, 15 months after graduating. (Graduate Destinations Survey 2024, Higher Education Statistics Agency) Changes to student visa system Basic
Compliance Assessment (BCA) thresholds raising by 5%. We must maintain a
course enrolment rate of at least 95% and a course completion rate of
90% in order to pass the compliance threshold and a new Red-Amber-Green
system to rate the BCA performance of each sponsor. Agent Quality Framework Surrey
committed to the pledge in 2024, and we will continue to work closely
with you to integrate the AQF into our agent management. Supporting entrepreneurship The
Government will review the Innovator Founder visa to offer support for
nurturing entrepreneurial talent currently studying at UK universities.
The goal of this initiative is to facilitate a smoother transition into
the Innovator Founder visa, for the eligible applicants, planning to
build their business and career in the UK. MBA Global Changemaker Scholarship It’s your last chance to invite your students to apply for the Surrey’s MBA Global Changemaker Scholarship.
Two fully-funded (tuition-only) MBA scholarships will be awarded to
exceptionally talented students, as a 100% tuition fee waiver. Application deadline: 15 June 2025 Read more about the eligibility criteria and how to apply.We
