Meet Cindi (Xinyu), our early childhood education graduate from China |
|
Having begun her journey in Adelaide as a 15-year-old from Shanghai, it was Australia’s education system, with support from her family and newfound friends, that helped Cindi realise her destiny.
During a craft activity for her Child Studies class at high school, she interacted with impressionable preschoolers and saw the impact an early childhood educator can have. When it came time to choose her degree, a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) at UniSA was her first pick.
Cindi, now an early childhood teacher, hopes to develop a holistic educational program. |

Designing success on a global stage |
|
Jin Xin Kwok, a third year Graphic and Communication Design student from Malaysia, showcased his creative talent in the prestigious D&AD New Blood Awards. He selected the Secret 7” record cover design challenge presented by War Child, choosing to design a cover for Gregory Porter’s “Merchant of Paradise”. His work stood out on the global stage, making him the only winner from Australia in his category, and one of just three winners from Australia overall!
“Winning a D&AD New Blood Pencil for my record cover design was the highlight of my education journey so far. The support from UniSA, including guest speakers, accessible facilities, and a strong creative culture, has really helped me grow as a designer in a city like Adelaide, which I chose for its green spaces and thriving creative potential,” he says.
“I really enjoy the collaborative and practical learning environment at UniSA. The lecturers and staff are incredibly helpful, offering honest, constructive feedback that feels like working with real clients. The two-way conversations and idea-sharing with tutors make it an exciting and supportive experience. Our relationships feel talking to a creative director, they give you creative freedom while also motivating you to push your work further.” |
