Kia ora koutou katoa,
We would like to share an important update outlining the key dates and requirements for applicants currently engaged in the selection process for the Trimester B 2026 postgraduate teaching programmes.
Application and Documentation Deadlines
Applications for the July 2026 intake close on Friday, 13 February. This ensures applicants have adequate time to complete interviews, provide references, and meet other requirements. The Division of Education has confirmed additional interview slots to support applicants in meeting these deadlines.
Applicants must submit all required documentation and complete the selection process by Friday, 27 February, with the exception of the NZ Police Vetting Form and the International Police Clearance Certificate. International applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their English language test results as early as possible to strengthen their application.
Selection and Offer Process
The Teaching Programmes Selection Committee will meet during the week commencing Monday, 2 March to review and shortlist applications.
From Monday, 9 March, the Admissions Office will begin issuing unconditional offers to applicants who previously received conditional offers.Shortlisted applicants will also be contacted and advised to begin their police checks and pay the required NZD 4,000 deposit (or full fees) to secure their place.
The deadline to pay the deposit is Friday, 24 April. Applicants who do not pay the deposit by this date will forfeit their place in the programme.
All shortlisted applicants will receive an outcome by the end of April. Applicants who are not successful in the selection process will also be notified.
Information for Deferred Applicants
Students who deferred from the January 2026 intake to the July 2026 intake do not need to complete a new selection process. However, they must provide a new police check, as Police Clearance Certificates are valid for six months.
Please note that availability in the deferred intake may be affected by learning area capacity, with limited places available in social sciences.
