Kia ora koutou katoa,
We are writing to share an important update on how tuition fees are presented in offer letters for students beginning their studies in B Trimester (July) 2026.
If a programme extends across more than one calendar year, updated offer letters will now include indicative 2027 tuition fees for each pathway.
Why are we including 2027 fees?
This change is designed to support students with planning and decision‑making.
Greater clarity: Many B (July) and C (November) Trimester programmes span two financial years, and fees typically increase annually. Including 2027 fees provides a clearer picture of the overall cost of study.
Better budgeting: Having an indicative 2027 fee helps students prepare financially.
Support for funding applications: Students can use this information when submitting estimates to banks, sponsors, or scholarship providers.
What you need to know
The 2027 fee shown is indicative only.
It is currently calculated as approximately 5% higher than the 2026 fee.
Final 2027 fees will be confirmed later this year following the annual fee review, and some programmes may be subject to a different increase.
This update is part of our commitment to transparency and ensuring students have the information they need to plan their study journey with confidence.
Need a revised offer letter?
If the student holds an unconditional offer letter and requires a revised offer that includes the indicative 2027 fees (for example, for loan or sponsorship purposes), please contact Admissions Office at info@waikato.ac.nz with the student ID and we will be happy to issue one for you.
Commission Note
Additionally, we would like to clarify that under Schedule Two, Clause 1 of the Agent Agreement, commission is payable on the tuition fee for the intake in which the student enrols—not on any future‑year fees listed in the offer.
If you have any questions about the offer or tuition fees, please feel free to contact us.
