Thank you for your continued support of UniSQ. As we approach the Trimester 2 intake, we have several important updates to share, including changes to some program English requirements, document evidence levels, and a timely reminder to assist your students in preparing their visa applications as early as possible.

There has been an update to the English language requirements for our Nursing programs.
The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) has introduced revised English language requirements for students applying to the Bachelor of Nursing.

Key changes include:

• Overall IELTS score of 7.0 still required, however a writing score of 6.5 is now accepted (previously, all bands required a minimum of 7.0)

• Cambridge C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency tests are now accepted

• Applicants may now combine results from up to two tests completed within 12 months (previously within 6 months)

In March 2025, the Evidence Level for countries and education providers was updated. The Document Checklist Tool on the Department’s website now reflects these updated Evidence Levels.

As we enter the final stages of the T2 intake, please keep the following dates in mind:

• T2 Orientation: 19th May

• T2 Study period start: 26th May

• Last date to enroll and fees due: 6th June

We are seeing increasing visa processing times across several regions. To avoid delays, all visa applications should be fully complete and lodged 8 weeks before the course commencement, as recommended by DHA. This ensures your students have the best chance of arriving in time for Orientation and classes.
