Adjustment of English proficiency requirements for the
Master of Teaching (all streams)To enhance student learning outcomes and ensure all graduates meet NESA’s English language proficiency requirements, we are introducing changes to the English proficiency assessment for the Master of Teaching programs (all streams). These changes will apply to admissions from 2027 onwards and are designed to ensure that students have the level of English proficiency for success in the program and for future professional accreditation.
As part of this change, the Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter will no longer be accepted as evidence of meeting the English language requirement for studies completed in countries not listed as English-speaking under our ELP rules.
Applicants will only be considered as meeting the English requirement if they have completed an entire tertiary qualification (minimum one-year full-time equivalent) in an English-speaking country within 5 years prior to the course commencement.
Applications for all postgraduate teaching programs for the 2027 intake are now open. Please advise your students of this
update and assist them in preparing their applications.S2 2026 PG Programs offer release:
While international unconditional offers for the majority of our postgraduate programs are issued on a rolling basis, the below PG courses have moved to an offer round process due to high demand and limited places available. Please kindly advise your students to accept their offers, as the offers will lapse if the acceptance process is not finalised by the deadline.

lang="x-size-16">Over the past few intakes, we have seen a significant uplift in early offer acceptances, which has had a clear and positive impact on eCOE processing times and visa readiness ahead of commencement. We encourage agents to continue this approach by using the key dates below as planning milestones and supporting students to submit complete applications, meet conditions, and accept offers as early as possible.![]()
Systems update
We would like to share a recent enhancement to the Agent Portal that may assist with workflow efficiency. Agents can now submit deferral requests directly through the portal for applicants holding an unconditional offer that has not yet engaged with the acceptance task and has not been lapsed. Previously, the deferral request option was only available for conditional offers. We hope this update will help reduce the
need for email-based requests and will increase our processing turnaround times. Please let us know if you encounter any issues when using this functionality. We would like to advise agents of a system display issue affecting some conditional offer letters. Where an offer includes only one or two conditions, extra blank bullet points may appear below the listed conditions. These blank bullet points do not mean that any conditions are missing or required. Only the conditions that are clearly written in text apply to the offer. This issue appears consistently across affected conditional offers and has been reported to our IT team.
