1. 虽然悉尼大学仍在争取，但是目前必须遵守限额政策，大学会以目前已有的Waitlist和Round机制来处理目前的审核流程。

2. 由于限额限制，大学建议学生一旦拿到无条件录取，务必尽早接受！大学也希望学生尽早规划，尽早提交新申请。

3. 以上限额也适配于CET和泰勒学院，请各位申请学生及时采纳大学建议。

I’m writing to provide an update on the University’s preparations for the implementation of the international student caps next year. While we will
continue to argue that this cap is poor public policy and should be abandoned, we must plan for how we would comply with the legislation should it become law in its current form.  

Our Vice-Chancellor has now communicated with staff so we are able to share with you some of the ways that we will approach this. As a current partner,
you know that the University of Sydney has been managing quotas on high demand courses for several years. We have worked with you on this and as much as possible we plan to continue to do this in a similar approach. This means we have active experience in
working this way, but now have extend this partnership with you across all our programs. We intend to use familiar processes, including waitlists, offer rounds, ranking for certain courses and regular reminders and communications via theiic.sra@sydney.edu.au mailbox and our Admissions updates.  

Whilst we still don’t know all of the detail, we know that we will have cases where applications might be closed for what the government now defines
as New Overseas Student Commencement (NOSC) students but possibly still available for exempted categories of students (non-NOSC) [we are using the acronyms of the government for consistency and hope that makes it easier to explain the approach]. Currently,
this is manual for us to manage and we are working on ways to present this information on the website for students and partners. Until that is finalised, we will manage this via our communications with you.  

We are also working closely with our Centre for English Teaching (CET) and Taylors College for USFP and HAPP. Both CET and Taylors College have course
level caps that align to ours. We are collaborating with them on processes, and they will communicate any specific changes directly to partners.  

Please note that whilst our number from what the government defines as New Overseas Student Commencement (NOSC) students has been reduced, we still
have a quota that will allow many prospective students to secure a place at the University of Sydney and many courses for S1 2025 still have places available. For popular courses or our longstanding quota programs, students will need to apply and accept early
to secure their place. Our focus remains on attracting the best and the brightest students from diverse backgrounds to a range of degrees, and we are committed to this goal and to our partnership with you.  

As we enter this new environment, we believe the most important things will be our trusted partners, our commitment to quality and to trying to provide
up-to-date and relevant information to students and partners to enable their decisions. It will be a learning curve for all of us in the sector, and I trust you will work with us as we navigate this together.
