As we prepare for Semester 2, we are pleased to share some important updates for you and your students, including changes to admissions entry requirements, marketing approvals and the latest news from UWA College. |
Updated Admissions requirements for 2026 |
UWA has recently made changes to course entry requirements. Please note the following updates to help guide you and your students: - The Weighted Average Mark (WAM) for the following Business Master’s programs has increased to at least 60% (previously 50%):
- Master of Commerce (41680)
- Master of Commerce (Articulation) (43680)
- Master of Applied Finance (42560)
- Master of Business Analytics (42630)
- Master of Business Information and Logistics Management (41670)
- Master of Human Resource and Employment Relations (41660)
- Master of Marketing (41690)
- Master of Public Policy (Coursework or Coursework & Dissertation) (42580)
- Master of Professional Accounting (40610)
- The Weighted Average Mark (WAM) for the following Business Master’s program has increased to at least 65% (previously 60%):
- Master of Professional Accounting (Chartered Accounting) (42660)
- The Duolingo English test is now accepted for meeting UWA’s English Language Competency (ELC) requirements, excluding accredited courses with specific ELC requirements. This change is subject to a two-year trial, and it is important to let your students know that The Department of Home Affairs does not currently accept Duolingo English Test scores for Australian visa applications.
- For applicants undertaking the WA Certificate of Education, UWA will now accept a final Year 12 school grade of C as meeting the University’s English language requirements.

International research scholarships opening soon |
For students interested in undertaking a research degree at UWA in 2026, applications for our scholarships will be open from Tuesday 1 July until Sunday 31 August 2025. |
Master of Public Health Webinar |
If you have students who are interested in studying the Master of Public Health, invite them to join us online on Wednesday 16 July from 5.30-6.30pm AWST.
During the session, you and your students can learn about UWA's postgraduate course in public health including practical learning, career opportunities, entry requirements, how to apply and more. |
UWA Foundation Program now open to students aged 16 |
Please be reminded that the UWA Foundation Program is open to international students aged 16. We look forward to welcoming the first of our younger students – starting from our upcoming October 2025 (Trimester 3) intake.
New Minimum Age Requirements for UWA Foundation Program Entry - 12-month UWA Foundation Program (Extended): 16 years and 0 days by date of commencement (first day of Orientation Week)
- 8-month UWA Foundation Program: 16 years and 4 months by date of commencement (first day of Orientation Week)
Please note that following successful completion of the UWA Foundation Program, students must have turned 17 to commence their undergraduate degree at UWA (first day of Semester). Students with a packaged offer including the UWA Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT) Language and Communications Essentials program will need to have turned 16 years of age prior to commencement of their UWA CELT program.
UWA College’s Diploma programs will continue to only admit students who are at least 17 years old at the time of enrolment.

Application Cut-Off Dates for Trimester 3, October 2025 Intake |
Application and acceptance cut-off dates for UWA College pathway programs* for the Trimester 3, October 2025 intake are now available:
Under 18 students and offshore applicants from South Asia, Central Asia, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam and African countries/nationalities: - Application deadline: 28 July 2025
- Offer acceptance deadline: 11 August 2025
All other countries/nationalities: - Application deadline: 18 August 2025
- Offer acceptance deadline: 25 August 2025
Onshore students with a valid visa: - Application deadline: 22 September 2025
- Offer acceptance deadline: 29 September 2025
Please be aware that Genuine Student (GS) requirement deadlines are assessed on a case-by-case basis, except for students from South Asia, Central Asia, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam and African countries/nationalities, where the deadline is 4 August 2025. *Please note the information above may be subject to change.

UWA College Success Scholarships |
Students who receive an offer for one of UWA College’s academic pathway programs will automatically be considered for the UWA College Success Scholarship – with no separate application required.
Recipients of this scholarship could receive: - Up to AUD $10,000* towards their UWA College Diploma in Engineering
- Up to AUD $9,000* towards their UWA College Diploma in Computer and Data Science
- Up to AUD $8,000* towards their UWA College Diploma in Commerce or UWA Foundation Program
If eligible, students will receive an official Scholarship Letter from UWA College outlining all the information, including the final awarded amount. All students need to do is accept their offer to study at UWA College to accept their scholarship. The scholarship will then automatically be applied to their UWA College tuition fees, with no extra steps required.
