Opportunities

Tourism is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world - but with that growth comes big questions. How do we protect our environment and support local communities while welcoming more visitors? How do we design experiences that are meaningful, responsible, and innovative?

Studying a BCom with a Tourism Management major gives students the opportunity to:

  • Learn about tourist behaviour, the impacts of tourism on people and places, and gain knowledge to be part of shaping a more sustainable and exciting future for tourism in Aotearoa and globally.

  • Secure meaningful employment in tourism operations, destination marketing, events management, government policy, and more.

  • Get hands on experience through practical work experience, field trips, guest lectures from the industry professionals, and helping tourism businesses through research and consultancy projects.

  • Build friendships with fellow students through our interactive classes and expand professional networks through our strong focus on industry engagement in the Wellington region and beyond.
