Our accommodation guarantee
Students will be guaranteed a room offer if they meet certain criteria as an undergraduate or postgraduate student.
Undergraduates guarantee
Undergraduate students are guaranteed an offer of University-owned and managed on-campus accommodation, or approved off-campus accommodation in a single-occupancy room, if they meet the following conditions:
They choose York as a UCAS firm or insurance choice.
They are a new full-time, first-year undergraduate student (UK or International), applying for a single room for the full academic year.
They apply for accommodation by 5pm BST, 31 July 2026.
Postgraduates guarantee
Postgraduate students are guaranteed an offer of University-owned and managed on-campus accommodation, or approved off-campus accommodation in a single-occupancy room, if they meet the following conditions:
They accept their York offer and apply for accommodation by 5pm BST, 31 July 2026.
They have an unconditional offer by 5pm BST, 7 August 2026.
Accommodation options
Accommodation at York is integrated into our 11 colleges, meaning that all of our accommodation is close to social, study and catering facilities. Students can choose from catered or self-catered and shared-bathroom or ensuite options.
Undergraduate accommodation prices range from £149 per week to £269 per week, based on a let length between 38 and 44 weeks.
Postgraduate accommodation prices range from £186 per week to £247 per week, based on a let length of 51 weeks.
