Early UCAS clearing opens tomorrow, Saturday 5 July at the University of York.

This email contains key information on:

1. How students can apply for Early Clearing
2. Information on Accommodation options for Early Clearing students

How to apply through Early Clearing

Students must apply using our Early Clearing Form. 

This form asks students to provide:

• Their personal details
• The course details (the course they are interested in studying which will appear as a dropdown)
• A list of their completed academic qualifications including English language qualifications

The form does not allow for document uploads, these will need to be sent separately to clearing@york.ac.uk. Students should include their name and UCAS ID in any correspondence.

To be eligible for Clearing, students must have:

• completed their academic qualifications and received their results – including any English Language results if required.
• a valid UCAS ID. If they haven't yet applied through UCAS, they can do so through the UCAS Hub (ucas.com).
• no offers through UCAS from any other UK university. If they have any offers, but no longer want to accept them, they can still apply for Clearing by declining your offer(s) (ucas.com).

Our Admissions Team will process and review students’ applications upon receipt of all the relevant information and documents from Monday 7 July.

Our undergraduate accommodation guarantee

Students are guaranteed an offer of a single-occupancy room in accommodation owned, managed or approved by the University, if they apply for accommodation for the full academic year 2025/26, and meet the following criteria:

• They are a new first-year undergraduate (UK or International).
• They choose York as your firm or insurance choice on UCAS, or apply through Early Clearing or Clearing and apply for accommodation by 5pm BST on 31 July 2025.
• Their offer becomes unconditional following UK A-Level Results Day on 14 August.
