Dear Partner

Clearing at the University of York opens tomorrow, Thursday 14 August at 8.00am (BST/UK Time).

This year York is accepting a wide range of qualifications and will consider applications as a whole. We are advising students to call us to discuss their individual circumstances.

Key information in this email:

  • When clearing is open and the phone number
  • Scholarships are available
  • Accommodation guarantee
  • Entry requirements

If your students are thinking of applying through Clearing, they can search our vacancies, which will be available to view early Thursday morning UK time. This page also features useful written and video guides to support students through the process.

York’s Clearing hotline will be open:

  • 8.00am - 6.00pm (BST) on Thursday 14 August 2025
  • 8.00am - 6.00pm (BST) on Friday 15 August 2025
  • 10.00am - 2.00pm (BST) on Saturday 16 August 2025
  • 10.00am - 2.00pm (BST) on Sunday 17 August 2025

Clearing hotline: +44 (0)1904 234 868

Clearing email: international-clearing@york.ac.uk

Students will need to call the Clearing hotline in order for our team to assess them for an offer. We will need to speak to the student directly, however we can liaise with any representative, with the express authority from the student.

It is important that any correspondence/documents (if required) are sent to: international-clearing@york.ac.uk

Please make sure your students have their academic transcripts with them, a UCAS ID, email address and their English Language results. If students know the UCAS code for the course they wish to apply for, this will expedite the process.

Scholarships are available!

We have scholarships available for your students worth up to £10,000 of their first year tuition fee.

York’s undergraduate accommodation guarantee

Students are guaranteed an offer of a single-occupancy room in accommodation owned, managed or approved by the University, if they apply for accommodation for the full academic year 2025/26, and meet the following criteria:

  • They're a new 1st Year Clearing undergraduate.
  • They have been offered a place at York in Clearing following UK A level results day on 14 August 2025.
  • They have confirmed their place of study, and hold an unconditional offer.
  • They accepted their York Clearing offer on UCAS, and applied for accommodation by 12 noon on 21 August.

Our dedicated Accommodation Team will be on hand during Clearing to offer students advice and support.  If your students have any questions or concerns please contact our Accommodation Team at accommodation@york.ac.uk.
