Thank you for your great efforts in recruiting international students to Western Sydney University. Despite some recent market challenges we have had a very strong intake for Autumn and we would like to thank you for all your efforts in bringing quality students to our institution.

As we navigate the new developments with the student visa program as a result of the Migration Review, we will ensure that we keep you informed about any changes we make to our processes and look forward to your ongoing support as we look towards our upcoming intakes for the second half of the year and beyond.

Deadlines for our upcoming intakes 2024

With visa processing taking a little longer these days especially in EL3 markets we are applying deadlines for application, GSR clearance, offer issuance, acceptance and payment and COE issuance to ensure there is a chance of the visa being processed in time for the start dates.

Please take note of the table below which shows the deadlines in place for our EL3 markets including India, Pakistan, Nigeria and Kenya amongst others.


Social Work - Change of English Entry RequirementFor 2025 Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work (Qualifying) students will be required to evidence an IELTS or equivalent of 7.0 overall with no band score below 7.0.

Students who pathway through our Postgraduate Bridging Program Social Work will still only be required to have an IELTS 6.5 with minimum 6.0 and will not be required to submit a further IELTS score before articulating into the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) program on successful completion of that semester program.

Please ensure that your students are aware of these new entry conditions for our upcoming intakes.


International Scholarships 2025

Western Sydney International is pleased to announce the continuation of our International Scholarships for 2025 intakes.

Undergraduate
There will be an automatic $3k multi-year scholarship (for three years maximum) offered to all programs except the Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine)/Doctor of Medicine.


Please note: Students applying for Bachelor of Nursing will have to qualify for the $3K or $6K multi-year scholarships on academic merit.

Postgraduate
There will be a continuation of $3k and $6K multi-year scholarships for qualified students. For 2025 there will be nine programs available for an automatic $6K multi-year scholarship:

 
•  1714 Master of Teaching (Secondary)

•  1784 Master of Teaching (Birth - 5 Years)

•  1792 Master of Social Work (Qualifying)

•   2813 Master of Property Investment and Development

•   2816 Master of Business Analytics

•   3699 Master of Information and Communications Technology

•   3693 Master of Engineering

•   3749 Master of Science

•   4702 Master of Public Health


There are also a limited number of Vice Chancellor Excellence 50% scholarships available for the upcoming intakes in 2024.

Venture Makers Innovation Challenge

Our Innovation hub at Western Sydney University (Launch Pad) is organising this semesters Innovation Challenge. The Venture Makers Innovation Challenge put participants in the driver’s seat to solve an emerging problem and develop and communicate innovative ideas. 

In this one day challenge, teams work with participants from various disciplines to explore how we could use technology/digital tools in education to ensure fair access, participation, and success for all learners. This is a great opportunity for students to learn practical skills that they can take into their, studies, careers and beyond. 


All our students are invited to compete in a 1 day Hackathon at our new Fairfield Connect Campus located in Western Sydney. The winning prize for the event is $1000.
