View Online Help your students start strong with O-Week As Trimester 1 approaches, now is the time to remind your commencing students that their Griffith journey begins before classes start. Orientation Week (O-Week) plays a vital role in helping students feel confident, connected and ready for study in Australia — and those who engage early are far more likely to settle in successfully. Please encourage your students to make the most of all O-Week activities, not just discipline-specific sessions. While academic events explain program structure and expectations, the wider O-Week program is equally important. International student sessions cover essential topics like visas, working while studying and support services, while social events, campus tours and clubs help students build friendships and a sense of belonging. Students can plan their experience using the online Orientation Planner, with access links sent to them in the lead-up to O-Week. Get in early to secure T1 accommodation Alongside O-Week planning, it’s also important to reinforce the need for students commencing in T1 to secure their accommodation as early as possible. Students have several accommodation pathways to consider:On-campus accommodation – convenient, supportive and popular with first-year studentsPurpose-built student accommodation – often close to campus with a strong student communityHomestay – a great option for students seeking cultural immersion and additional supportShare houses – offering flexibility and independence, particularly for returning or more experienced studentsEncourage students to research their options early, understand their budget and apply as soon as they are eligible. New facility photography now available We’ve recently uploaded new high-quality photography to the Agent Hub, showcasing some of Griffith University’s outstanding teaching and learning facilities. The latest images feature the Law Building, Law Moot Court, Virtual Pharmacy, ICT Cisco Labs and the ICT Big Data Lab. These state-of-the-art spaces reflect the hands-on, industry-aligned learning environments available to Griffith students. We encourage you to share these images with students interested in studying law, pharmacy, ICT and related programs, to help bring the Griffith experience to life during counselling conversations. Access these resources by visiting the agent resources page on the Griffith website. Then select the agent hub for your region, and log in using the password: MarketingAccess our Agent Hub Changes to agent commissions for onshore student transfers Under the ESOS Framework, the Australian Government has introduced changes to the National Code of Practice that affect the payment of education agent commissions for onshore student transfers. Under the updated National Code, education providers are no longer permitted to pay agent commissions for students who have already commenced study onshore and are transferring from another provider. This change is designed to protect students and strengthen sector integrity by removing incentives for unnecessary or non-genuine transfers. To support a smooth transition, the new rules will not apply to students accepted for enrolment on or before 31 March 2026, even if they commence study after this date. Commissions linked to these accepted students may continue to be paid in line with existing agreements. It’s important to note that:Students can still transfer providers in line with ESOS requirementsAgents may continue to assist students with transfers, however no commission can be paid by the receiving providerProgression to further study or movement within an approved packaged course (as listed on the student’s visa CoE) is not considered a transfer, and commissions may still be payable in these casesWe encourage agents to familiarise themselves with these changes and factor them into counselling conversations with onshore students considering a provider transfer. Please download and review the Australian Government's factsheet for more information. Celebrating success with Griffith Scholarships Griffith University offers a wide range of scholarships designed to support high-achieving international students across all levels of study. From academic merit-based awards to discipline-specific and regionally focused scholarships, these opportunities help recognise excellence and reduce financial barriers for students choosing to study at Griffith. We extend our congratulations to our partner agencies whose students have successfully secured a Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship: iBN Education CentreInspire Overseas Education Services (IOES)Avenue to Success (ATS)Australian Multicultural Education Centre (AMEC)LINK International Student ServiceIDP Education BangladeshDuc Anh Overseas Study Advisory & Translation JSC This prestigious scholarship recognises outstanding academic achievement and leadership potential, and we’re proud to welcome the recipients to the Griffith community. Griffith launches Bachelor of Quantum Electronic Engineering (Honours) Griffith University is proud to introduce a ground-breaking new Bachelor of Quantum Electronic Engineering (Honours) beginning in 2026. Our program is the second degree of its kind in Australia and is well positioned to meet burgeoning demand in this emerging field. This innovative four-year degree uniquely integrates core electronic engineering fundamentals with advanced quantum science, equipping students with specialised skills in quantum computing, quantum communications and sensing, and cutting-edge electronic systems. It’s designed for students passionate about physics, innovation and the technology shaping tomorrow. What makes this offering especially compelling for prospective students is its alignment with world-leading research and real-world industry developments happening right here in Queensland. Queensland at the heart of a quantum revolution At the forefront of Griffith’s commitment to quantum technologies is the Queensland Quantum and Advanced Technologies Research Institute (QUATRI) — a hub uniting expertise in quantum physics, nanotechnology, microfabrication and ultra-precise measurement systems. QUATRI consolidates decades of Griffith’s research excellence to support the next quantum era and to partner with global industry leaders. Importantly, QUATRI is establishing strategic collaborations that bridge academia and industry, including projects with companies like PsiQuantum, a Silicon Valley-based quantum technology leader, which will be expanding its Asia-Pacific presence at Griffith’s Brisbane South campus. A$1 billion quantum computing investment in Brisbane Queensland is rapidly emerging as a global hub for quantum innovation, supported by almost $1 billion in funding toward the world’s first large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computer, to be built in Brisbane through a collaboration between the Australian and Queensland governments and PsiQuantum. This next-generation machine is designed to overcome current limitations in quantum development and could transform industries through dramatically enhanced computing power. For agents and prospective students alike, this context isn’t just exciting — it signals real career pathways. Students trained in quantum electronic engineering will be ideally placed to contribute to these pioneering research environments, high-skilled technical industries and emerging opportunities in quantum computing, sensing, communications and beyond. Why this matters for students ✔ Be among the first in Australia to graduate with specialist quantum engineering expertise. ✔ Learn at an institution deeply embedded in leading quantum research and industry collaboration. ✔ Study in Queensland — a state rapidly becoming a global centre for quantum technology and innovation. Bachelor of Medical Science 2027 intake We’d like to share an important update regarding Griffith University’s Bachelor of Medical Science (1280) for the 2027 intake. For this intake, an application deadline of 31 July 2026 will apply to international applicants. This update is now reflected in the Degree and Career Finder. Introducing this deadline will support effective quota management, classroom diversity and equity across markets, while also providing students, particularly those applying from Korea, with adequate time to prepare and submit all required documentation. With this timeline in place, offers can be issued from August, aligning with application processes at many other Australian institutions. We kindly ask that you share this update with your prospective students to ensure they can plan ahead accordingly. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact your regional marketing manager. Student shoutouts for agentsWe’ve recently created a series of short videos featuring current Griffith students, shouting out their education agents and sharing a glimpse of their study experience. These videos have been well received and are designed to support agent promotion across digital channels. You can view our latest video here. If this is something your team would be interested in — with the intention of a paid Instagram collaboration funded by Griffith International — we’d love to hear from you. Please register your interest by contacting gi-communications@griffith.edu.au, and our team will be in touch with further details.
