Welcome to the February edition of your Agent Newsletter!
In this edition, we share a message from our new Vice Chancellor, provide guidance on timely arrivals for first semester students, and highlight the energy and success of our recent Connect Week and O’Week activities.
Hear from our Vice Chancellor
We are pleased to share a message from Adelaide University Vice Chancellor, Professor Nicola Phillips, as she officially commences in her role. In this video, Professor Phillips reflects on the unique opportunity to build Australia’s new for purpose university, one that is outward looking, inclusive, and committed to serving South Australia and the world.
We are pleased to advise that the Adelaide ‘Be The First’ Welcome Grant, valued at AUD$2,000*, remains available to eligible international students. This is an important and pioneering initiative designed to support international students joining us as the first Adelaide University cohort in 2026.
To be eligible, students must accept their Adelaide University Offer of Admission by: 31 May 2026 for students commencing in Semester 2 2026.
The grant will be disbursed after the census date of a student’s first semester. Students may not be eligible to receive the Adelaide 'Be The First’ Welcome Grant if they accept their Offer of Admission well past the above date, noting there is some additional flexibility for students located onshore in Australia.
We appreciate if you can support our first cohort by sharing this opportunity with your students and help them take advantage of this valuable support.
To ensure students a successful start, we encourage agents to support applicants intending to commence in the first semester to complete their acceptance as early as possible.
Semester one orientation is compulsory for all students, and some programs have attendance and participation requirements from the first week of teaching, including in class learning, placements or clinical components. In some circumstances, late arrival may not be possible.
Acceptance deadlines may vary by region, so please confirm the latest timelines with your regional team and encourage students to take prompt action to ensure they can attend compulsory orientation and meet all program requirements. For assistance with enrolments, students should contact the Student Assist team.
Launching futures at Orientation
Over the past few weeks, we have warmly welcomed our first students through Connect Week and O’Week marking the beginning of a wonderful journey at Adelaide University.
Our campuses have been activated by our community creating a real energy and experience, along with a strong sense of belonging and support through Starting Strong sessions, peer-led student panels, degree welcomes, student tours, and academic enrolment hubs.
Our International Welcome Sessions have been a highlight, providing our global learners with the opportunity to feel connected and confident as they navigate university life in Australia – along with fun activities, games and giveaways.
We look forward to seeing what our students will achieve as they launch bright futures.
As we begin 2026, we kindly remind you to remove all University of Adelaide and University of South Australia content and logos from your website and replace with Adelaide University content.
