QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026

Adelaide University has been recognised in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, with 22 subjects ranked in the global top 100 across Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management. This achievement builds on Adelaide University’s overall global standing as a top‑100 university, ranked equal 82 in the 2026 QS World University Rankings.

Notable subject rankings include:
Mineral and Mining Engineering: 18
Petroleum Engineering: 25
Dentistry: 49
Nursing: =50
Education: =63
Law: =63
We encourage you to reference these results when advising students, particularly those seeking globally ranked programs delivered by a consistently high‑performing institution.

Update on Offer Processing

We acknowledge recent delays in issuing offers and recognise the impact this may have had on your work with future students. In this short video message, our team shares an update on the steps we have taken to ensure a more efficient offer‑processing experience going forward.

Eligibility update for Adelaide Merit and Emerging Leaders Scholarships

The entry requirement scores for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and the GCE A levels have been revised, in recognition of the high quality of IB and A level graduates. The new requirements, effective for students commencing at AU from semester 2 2026 are:

Adelaide Emerging Leaders Award 25 per cent scholarship
A minimum score of 33 for students who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
A minimum score of 12 for students who have completed the GCE A levels
Adelaide Merit Scholarship 15 per cent scholarship
A minimum score of 28 for students who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
A minimum score of 9 for students who have completed the GCE A levels

StudyAdelaide 2026 Global Agent Famil

Last month, Adelaide University was delighted to welcome more than 60 education agents from China, India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam as part of StudyAdelaide’s 2026 Global Agent Famil.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with our global partners, while giving agents first‑hand insight into Adelaide University’s campuses, facilities, and academic strengths.

Agents visited both the Adelaide City Campus and Waite Campus, engaging in interactive workshops across a range of specialist facilities, including:
Acoustic & Vibration Laboratory
Adelaide Health Simulation
EXTERRES Laboratory
Food Innovation Laboratory
Innovation Studios
Winery facilities at Waite Campus
Beyond the campus experience, agents also had the chance to explore student life in Adelaide, with visits to the Adelaide Fringe, Cleland Wildlife Park, and Henley Beach.

Eid al‑Fitr Community Celebration at Adelaide University

More than 500 students and staff recently came together at Pridham Hall to mark the end of Ramadan, Islam’s most holy month, and celebrate Eid al‑Fitr. The gathering provided an opportunity for the Adelaide University community to connect and celebrate together, reflecting the values of unity, compassion, and connection that Ramadan represents.

We extend our warm wishes to students, partners, and friends in our global community who observe Eid, and value the diversity of cultures and traditions that enrich campus life. Moments like these highlight the welcoming and inclusive community experience available to students studying at Adelaide University.

English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) Program

Adelaide University’s English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) Program, delivered through the English Language Centre, supports educators and institutions seeking to strengthen English‑medium teaching capability.

This 40‑hour professional development program prepares lecturers and educators to deliver academic content in English with confidence. The course is structured around teaching methodology, language development, and supervised practice, reflecting the realities of modern classrooms, including diverse student cohorts and the integration of AI tools in teaching and learning.

The program is suitable for lecturers, teachers, and future educators, with flexible delivery options available to support institutional needs both in Australia and offshore. Agents working with institutional partners, government programs, or professional development initiatives are encouraged to share this opportunity.

Sue Ng

New Appointment: Director, International Recruitment

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Sue Ng as Director, International Recruitment, commencing Monday 6 July.

Sue joins us from RMIT University, where she is Assistant Director, Student Recruitment (International), leading one of Australia’s largest international student recruitment portfolios. With more than 15 years’ experience across global recruitment strategy, partnerships and market development, Sue brings deep sector knowledge and a strong track record of delivering sustainable, compliant growth while shaping market strategy across regions. She is recognised for her ability to bring together market insight, partnerships and operational delivery to drive outcomes.

Sue has recently been appointed Deputy Convenor of the IEAA Marketing and Recruitment Network, reflecting her contribution to the broader sector. Her earlier career spans both faculty and central roles at the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia. Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Politics and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Politics) from the University of Adelaide.

We look forward to the leadership, expertise and energy Sue will bring to this important role.
