We know that preparing for international study requires careful planning, particularly when it comes to travel and associated costs. In response to the evolving global landscape, the University of Bath is introducing additional financial support for overseas undergraduate students joining us this year to provide greater security and peace of mind as they finalise their plans.
We are pleased to confirm that the new International Welcome Award, worth £1,500 in the first year of their course, will be available to help with travel costs and transition to the UK.
This additional funding reflects our recognition of the uncertainty many students are facing and our commitment to supporting them through it. Our aim is to ensure students can focus on preparing for their studies and future here, with greater confidence and reassurance.
Key details for offer holders
The award is available to all new, self‑funded international undergraduate students who have overseas fee status and who are starting their course in September 2026.
The award will be applied as a fee discount off the student's first-year tuition fee only.
The value of the award will be clearly detailed on the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).
To be eligible for the award, students must not be in receipt of any other University scholarship funding . If they have been or are later awarded a Bath International Excellence scholarship, only that higher award will apply.
Students must receive a confirmed place at Bath through UCAS. This award still applies if students choose Bath as their insurance choice and later become firm with us.
By applying the award as a fee reduction, we hope this support helps students meet the costs of travel and arrival in the UK, to begin their studies at Bath.
More details will be available soon, and we encourage you to keep an eye on our website for more information. If you have any questions, please contact us.
