Trinity College Foundation Studies
We are pleased to update you that, from the 2026 intake onwards, we have revised the methodology for determining the best four subjects for students applying via Trinity College Foundation Studies.
For students applying for the Bachelor of Arts, English continues to be required both as a prerequisite and part of the best four subjects.
For all other degrees, prerequisite subjects for courses are no longer required to be part of the best four.
Important note: Students are still required to pass all subject prerequisites for all programs, which remains unchanged.
2026 Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship
The Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship (MIUS) eligibility list has been updated based on the latest GDP data. Impacted countries have been removed, and the revised information is available on the MIUS website.

International application closing dates for graduate programs commencing start year 2026 have been extended
Many graduate coursework programs have extended their application deadlines for the upcoming start year 2026 intake, as follows:
The following programs have had their deadline extended to 30 September 2025: Courses offered by the Faculty of Arts (excluding the Master of Public Policy and Management), Master of Information Technology, Master of Information Systems, Master of Computer Science, Master of Nursing Science, Master of Social Work, Master of Applied Psychology, and Graduate Diploma in Psychology.
The following programs have had their deadline extended to 30 November 2025: Courses offered by the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning (excluding the 300-point Master of Architecture), Faculty of Business and Economics, Faculty of Education (excluding the Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) and Master of Teaching (Secondary) Internship), Faculty of Engineering and Information and Technology, Faculty of Science (excluding the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) and the Graduate Diploma in Biostatistics, Master of Biostatistics, Master of Biostatistics (Enhanced), and Master of Public Health.
Courses with bespoke assessment methods and timelines are excluded. Every effort has been made to ensure this information is accurate however please refer to the individual course page on Study to confirm the specific deadline for each course.
New Business and Economics scholarships
Three new Faculty of Business and Economics scholarships are now available for students commencing in graduate coursework programs.
The Business and Economics Graduate Merit Scholarship for 25-50% fee remission is awarded to high achieving international students who are enrolling in a graduate degree with the Faculty of Business and Economics.
The Business and Economics Graduate Pathway Scholarship for 10-50% fee remission is awarded to students who are enrolled in a masters degree by coursework within the Faculty of Business and Economics and have completed any undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne within the past twelve months.
The Business and Economics Global Diversity Graduate Scholarship for 25-50% fee remission is offered to international students who are enrolling in a graduate degree with the Faculty of Business and Economics and are citizens of countries where international educational opportunities are limited by financial disadvantage.
The Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences has conducted a tuition fee review of the Graduate Diploma in Psychology (340AA) and has determined that the annual fee of this course will be reduced, taking effect from the 2026 start-year intake. General and program updates
Genuine Student (GS) requirement update
A reminder to all agents that to be granted a student visa, all applicants must demonstrate they satisfy the genuine student criterion as outlined by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
Note that the University of Melbourne will also be conducting Genuine Student assessments prior to an unconditional offer being made. Applicants from any country may be selected at random at the time of offer to undergo a Genuine Student assessment.

Enhanced Bachelor of Commerce curriculum
From 2026, Commerce students will have greater flexibility in their degree.
There will be one compulsory subject, Introductory Microeconomics. Students will then complete at least four subjects from a core list introducing every major.
Actuarial Studies can now be taken as a double major with Business Analytics, Economics or Finance.
A new initiative also allows students to deepen their knowledge by completing two Level 3 specialist elective subjects related to their major. Available specialisations include:
