Dear Partner, Greetings from Hawthorn-Melbourne. We hope email finds you well. University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program – Preparation [UMELBP Prep] commences on Monday 1 September. This is just a reminder of the opportunity for your students to achieve the English requirement for entry to the University of Melbourne – Semester 1, 2026, whilst continuing to develop their English language skills. UMELBP Preparation plus the UMELBP - 20-week packaged enrolment with direct entry to the University of Melbourne. Faculty of Business and Economics- Change to the English language entry requirementsThe University has recently advised that students applying to the University of Melbourne – Faculty of Business and Economics, may also be eligible for entry to UMELBP Prep for those courses requiring and overall of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.https://study.unimelb.edu.au/how-to-apply/english-language-requirements/graduate-english-language-requirements/course-specific-requirements#navigation-mbs Courses:UMELBP Prep - University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program PreparationplusUMELBP - University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program Applications for UMELBP Prep and UMELBP should include the conditional offer from the University of Melbourne which includes the above course options. Course dates:1 September 2025 to 6 February 2026 (20 weeks)The enrolment will include 10 weeks of UMELBP Prep + 10 weeks of UMELBP. UMELBP Prep entry requirements:This option is available to international students with an offer for a University of Melbourne course that requires an IELTS 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0) who currently have:· IELTS : 5.5 (no band less than 5.0)· TOEFL : 46 + writing 14; speaking 14; reading 4; listening 5· PTE : 50 with no communicative skill below 42 We can help. Please let us know if your student is: (a) eligible for entry to UMELBP Prep + UMELBP and is waiting on an offer from the University of Melbourne for Semester 1, 2026,or,(b) is holding an offer from the University and is eligible for entry as outlined above, but does not have this option written into their University Offer. Hawthorn can contact the University on your behalf requesting the offer, and/or, for the offer to be updated to include the UMELBP Prep + UMELBP options. Note that with this option:The English studies are recognised by the University of Melbourne as meeting the English requirements. That is:· By successfully completing the UMELBP Prep, students can progress to the UMELBP course.· By successfully completing the UMELBP course, students can progress to the University of Melbourne without taking another IELTS, TOEFL or PTE test.
