With the start of Semester 2 2025 drawing near, we have now passed the acceptance deadline for EL 3 countries and are processing the remaining offshore EL1/2 and onshore acceptances for the S2 and T3 intakes. International acceptances for the second half of 2025 have surpassed the first half which makes us optimistic that confidence in Australia is returning after the chaos of 2024.

Murdoch remains a Priority 1 provider and is experiencing the timely visa outcomes and very high grant rates we were led to expect as a result of MD111. However, Murdoch has now crossed the 80% threshold for “Total NOSC if all students commence” which means that if and when all students with COE’s get a visa grant, we will cross the 80% threshold and become Priority 2 at that point. Based on our modelling we expect that this to happen around the beginning of August . This means that all students who have accepted for Semester 2 2025 and submitted their visa application should expect to receive priority 1 processing. However, some later applicants for Trimester 3 may experience Priority 2 processing. As always we encourage all of you to have your student’s accept their offers and submit their visa applications as far in advance as possible. None of us can predict the moves of the government and giving your students as much time and space as possible is the best way to avoid disappointment. I will inform you all as soon as we cross into Priority 2 but given the time of year and conservative admissions deadline in place, we expect the impact on you and your students to be minimal.

In other news, Murdoch’s famous International Welcome Scholarship has now been approved for 2026 and that extends to package students who have an intake with Murdoch in 2027 as well. So you can now recruit direct and packaged students with confidence that their Murdoch Offer letters for 2026 and beyond will reflect they have received the scholarship. We are also excited to announce in the near future, the introduction of new course specific scholarships which are being finalised as we speak! Watch this space!
