The Graduate Diploma of Teaching (GDoT) continues to be one of Southern Cross University’s most popular programs, offering a flexible pathway for graduates from other disciplines to enter primary or secondary teaching.
Demand has been particularly strong from applicants with an Information Technology and Business background. As a result, we have now reached capacity for the Information Processes and Technology (IPT), the Software Design and Development and the Business Studies teaching areas.
To ensure a high-quality student experience and appropriate placement availability, applications and new offers for these three teaching areas for Term 3 and Term 5 are now closed, effective immediately. Master of Teaching (Secondary) for these teaching areas remains open currently for those intakes. GDoT applications for these three areas can be applied for in Term 1, 2027.
Any applications already submitted for the closed teaching areas that do not yet have an offer will be considered for the alternative option of the Master of Teaching (Secondary) or the Primary pathway.
All other teaching areas available to international students remain open at this stage. We encourage you to submit applications and accept offers as early as possible to avoid any future disappointment.
The strong demand for this program reflects its excellent reputation and the outstanding work we continue to achieve together. Thank you for your ongoing partnership in attracting and supporting the next generation of educators.
