Swinburne secures top 300 spot in ARWU rankings
Swinburne has maintained its position in the world’s top 300 universities in ShanghaiRanking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2025. Consistently ranked 201-300 since 2022, Swinburne continues to be recognised as a global leader in research and innovation, reflecting its strong international reputation.
Swinburne Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Professor Karen Hapgood emphasised that “while rankings are only one aspect of measuring success, this strong performance acknowledges Swinburne’s leadership in research, innovation and global collaboration.”
ARWU is a respected global benchmark for assessing university performance that annually evaluates over 2,500 universities and lists the top 1,000 based on key criteria such as highly cited researchers and research publications in leading journals.
Supporting you and your students at India Open Day
From Sunday 31 August to Saturday 6 September, Swinburne is travelling to India to host Open Day in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Coimbatore. During these events, prospective students will get the chance to meet our academics, explore Swinburne’s top-ranked programs, and could even have the chance to receive a spot offer on the day.

From 2026, Swinburne will launch two new undergraduate business courses that combine technology with business knowledge to prepare students for a digital future. Here's a preview.
Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence in Business
As Australia’s first and only business AI degree of its kind, the Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence in Business at Swinburne is a future-ready course designed to combine emerging AI tech with strategic business insight. Through hands-on projects, ethical awareness, and technical foundations, graduates will be ready to tailor AI-driven solutions for a variety of business problems.

Bachelor of Business Analytics
In Swinburne’s new Bachelor of Business Analytics, students will learn how to drive innovation by applying the appropriate technological solution and data-driven analysis to approach complex problems. They’ll build professional skills and networks through strong industry connections to graduate with the hands-on experience for an in-demand career.
Change to Bachelor of Design entry requirements
From Semester 1 2026, students will no longer be required to complete an arts or design related unit for entry into the Bachelor of Design.
International students will still be required to satisfy the minimum English language requirement for entry into the course.
