The International Recruitment team is pleased to announce the appointment of Oliver Fortescue as the new Director, International Recruitment and Admissions and Rob McDonald as the Associate Director, International Recruitment.
Since 2019, Oliver has been employed as Partner at Edified, a specialised consulting firm focused on the education industry. With more than twenty years’ experience working in international education in the UK and Australia, Oliver is highly respected and brings considerable expertise to the role. He is recognised as an expert in student acquisition, with experience in student recruitment, admissions, channel management, process improvement and organisational design. Oliver brings dual-sector experience to Swinburne, having formerly been the International Director at Central Queensland University, where he oversaw the re-engineering of their international operations, resulting in sustained growth, and prior to CQ University he was employed as Assistant Director of International at RMIT University. Oliver was also a former chair and executive board member of the Australian Universities International Directors’ Forum. Before moving to Melbourne, Oliver worked for University of Westminster, London, and worked also in Japan.
Rob brings to the role a wealth of experience, with nearly 20 years in international education spanning recruitment, admissions, channel management, partnerships, and compliance. He joins us from Edified Education, where he spent two and a half years as a consultant in the higher education sector. Having worked in both university and education agency settings, Rob understands the pressures education agents face and is passionate about building strong, supportive partnerships that lead to great student outcomes.
