Master of Teaching (Secondary)
Students could become a teacher in just two years with Swinburne’s Master of Teaching (Secondary), which embraces innovative delivery techniques and combines contemporary research and advanced pedagogical knowledge with practicum opportunities.
Produced in conjunction with industry partners, the course content focuses on classroom management, learning, and responsive teaching, equipping students with the confidence, know-how, and practical skills needed to guide young minds in the modern classroom. They’ll learn how to analyse, plan and implement highly effective learning programs for chosen methods in secondary education and to maximise student learning outcomes through the integrated application of learning areas, disciplines and pedagogical approaches.
Students will graduate prepared to be future educational leaders and innovators with a strong identity of themselves as teachers and teacher researchers. Graduates from this course will have opportunities to apply for positions in secondary school settings in a range of government and independent schools.
Swinburne offers online course trainings throughout the year for students to learn more information about specific courses – including program overview and highlights, industry connections and career outcomes.
To ensure that international students commencing at Swinburne are prepared for their studies and life in Australia, the International Student Advisory and Support team is holding a Commencing Students Webinar series.
The webinars will be held at 2pm (AEST) on consecutive Wednesdays in the lead up to the start of Semester 2 and will cover a different topic each week including visa conditions, enrolment, health insurance, accommodation, scams to avoid, academic support services, and more. The sessions are interactive and allow students to ask questions in real-time.
