This email outlines the essential next steps you need to follow after receiving your offer. Please read carefully to stay on track for a smooth enrolment and visa process.

1️. 接受录取通知书 | Accept Your Full Offer

Secure your place at Otago by accepting your offer:

• Check your Offer of Place letter in your eVision alerts

• Click Accept Offer

2️. 支付学费 | Pay Your Tuition Fee

You must pay your full tuition fee before submitting your student visa application.

• The tuition amount is listed in your Offer of Place (note: pay the full amount, not a deposit)

• Payment methods (NZD):

• Bank Transfer

3️. 获取学费收据回执 | Request Tuition Fee Receipt (Required for Visa Application)

Tuition fee receipt: ESSENTIAL STEP TO APPLY FOR STUDENT VISA

A new feature is now live in eVision, allowing students to request their tuition fee receipt for student visa purposes directly from their eVision portal. This applies to Diploma programmes (Arts, Commerce, Science) and all other full degree programmes (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PGCert, PGDip and PhDs) submitted through eVision. 

How can a student request their receipt via eVision? 

From within eVision, students can request their tuition fee receipt via either the ‘My Finances’ container (under the Home tab) or the ‘Finance’ menu (on the top navigation bar): 

i)                 The ‘My finances’ container (under Home): 

ii)                The ‘Finance’ menu (on the top navigation bar): 

Steps to request a tuition fee receipt as an international student: 

• Log in to eVision. 

• Click Request tuition fee receipt from either the My Finances container or the Finance menu. 

• Select the academic year they are requesting the receipt for from the drop-down menu. 

• Click Request receipt. 

• Click Exit. 

4️. 学生签证申请 | Apply for Your Student Visa

• All international students must have a visa valid for study at the University of Otago, with the correct location of campus and programme of study specified.

• Avoid delays in processing the application:

Check emails regularly, including spam/junk folders, in case INZ requests more information.  If an Immigration Adviser or education consultant (agent) applies on your behalf, keep in regular contact with them.

5️. 预订住宿 | Book Your Accommodation
Applications for Semester 1, 2026 accommodation open on 1 August 2025. Please apply through the Accommodation tab in your eVision portal.

Accommodation Options:

1. Residential Colleges – Ideal for undergraduate and foundation students

2. UniFlats – Suitable for postgraduates, PhD students, and second-year undergraduates

How to apply:

• Log into your eVision account

• Under “My details”, click “Residential Colleges and UniFlats”

• Follow the link to Te Puna, the Otago Student Accommodation Portal

• You’ll receive an email titled “Registration with Te Puna” with login details

• Complete the required steps and upload any requested documents
