Our June 2026 intake is fast approaching, and our Admissions Team is currently prioritising the processing of these applications. At the same time, our Visa Team is carrying out the necessary checks to support CAS issuance for students starting in June and has already begun issuing CAS letters for the September 2026 intake. Given the increasing importance of CAS and Visa compliance, and the heightened level of scrutiny applied by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), we have dedicated this edition of the newsletter toCAS and Visa related updates. We hope you find the information below helpful. Previous Visa RefusalsAs UKVI processes continue to become more rigorous, we kindly ask that all applicants fully disclose any previous visa refusals on their application form, whether these relate to the UK or any other country. If a prior refusal is identified at a later stage, this may significantly slow down the CAS issuance process and could result in delays. Thank you for helping ensure that all information is provided accurately at the application stage. Guidance for Supporting Credibility InterviewsSupporting applicants in preparing for a successful credibility interview, which may form part of the visa application process, is increasingly important, as UKVI continues to expand the use of these interviews. Depending on an applicant’s nationality and country of domicile, we may conduct pre-CAS interviews as part of the CAS issuance process. These interviews are designed to help ensure that students are well prepared for a potential UKVI credibility interview. To support a successful credibility interview, please ensure students are able to clearly and consistently explain the reasons behind their decisions, using the University website as their main source of information, when discussing:• Their course choice – including course content, structure, teaching and assessment methods, and how the course supports their future career plans • Their choice of university and location – including what other universities they considered, relevant facilities, learning resources, and student support services offered by the university, as well as why they chose Edinburgh • Their decision to study in the UK – demonstrating an understanding of the UK education system and why studying in the UK is preferable to other options • Their financial arrangements – showing clear knowledge of tuition fees, living costs, accommodation, and sources of fundingImportant ReminderDeposit and CAS deadlines: Please ensure you refer to the offer letter for the correct deposit and CAS deadline, as this may vary.Best wishes, International Team international@napier.ac.uk Edinburgh Napier University is a registered Scottish charity.
