New Program Update: CIE to run the University of Newcastle English Language Centre We are delighted to announce that starting this year, the CIE has taken on management of the English Language Centre’s English Language Bridging Program (ELBP), based on Callaghan Campus. Under this new arrangement, ELBP continues to deliver high-quality English language instruction designed to help international students develop the academic English skills they need to succeed in their university studies. The program focuses on: • Academic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills • Understanding academic culture and expectations • Critical thinking and collaborative learning Delivered on the University’s Callaghan Campus, ELBP offers 20 classroom hours per week across multiple proficiency levels. Successful completion enables eligible students to progress directly into University of Newcastle or CIE pathway programs without needing to re-sit external English tests (except for nursing). This transition enhances the pathways support we provide to students and consolidates our College’s role as a key gateway for international students into degree programs at the University of Newcastle. Murdoch's Veterinary Medicine Team Meets with Murdoch College StudentsProfessor Cristy Secombe and Associate Professor Melinda Bell recently met with Murdoch College students progressing toward admission to the Murdoch School of Veterinary Medicine. Murdoch is Western Australia’s only veterinary school and has graduated more than 3,500 veterinarians over the past 40 years. The Bachelor of Science / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (BSc/DVM) is internationally accredited by AVBC, AVMA, and RCVS. The program is supported by outstanding facilities, including the only veterinary school in Australia with a working farm on its main campus, a dedicated surgical training centre, and The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University. Pathway Information Students completing Murdoch College Foundation Studies (FSP) or the Murdoch University Preparation Course (MUPC, including the Accelerated option - MUPCX) can package into the Bachelor of Agricultural Science (BAgri).
